What's the Problem?

East Nottingham Township is in the process of revising the zoning ordinance to appease the developer of Herr’s Farm. The current zoning ordinance restricts building height to 35-feet. Distribution warehouses, which the developer seeks to build, requires building heights well above 35-feet to accommodate refrigeration and automation.

These facilities will convert a large portion of the 123-acre farm to impervious surface. This will impact stormwater management, municipal infrastructure, traffic, air quality, noise, light, and habitat. These facilities are minimally staffed and operate 24/7 with more than a thousand tractor trailer trips in and out daily.

This isn’t just an East Nottingham problem.

East Nottingham Township is a member of the Oxford Region Plaining Committee (ORPC) and owes a duty to all members which includes: the Borough of Oxford, Elk, Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Nottingham Townships.
